Former Super Eagles coach and Atlanta 96 gold medalist, Jo Bonfrere has Criticized Under fire Current Super Eagles coach Gernot, Rohr of being too Defensive Minded.
The 73 years old Dutchman Tagged the
present Super Eagles team as being 'too Boring to watch' despite having exciting Young Talents in the team.
“Under the coach (Rohr), the Eagles have not done well,” Bonfrere told Sports Extra.

“There haven’t been any good team tactics or team play despite having in their ranks exciting players. The way Nigeria have played lately is with much defensive tactics and it’s boring to watch, which is not good enough. They haven’t really improved.”
On whether the Franco-German should be handed a new deal after it elapses by June Bonfrere said, “It’s not for me to decide but the federation who employed him.”
There's been Speculations by the Governing body of Nigerian football over a possible replacement of Gernot Rohr.
Jo Bonfrere who took Over from Clemens Westerhof, led Nigeria to the Olympic 96 Gold medal triumph. He also coached the Super Eagles from 1999 to 2001, where the team won silver at the 2000 Africa Cup of Nations, losing out to Cameroon in the Finals.
