According to Reports from French Media Outfit, L'equipe, the French ligue 1 season is about to end prematurely due to Covid-19 and current League leaders, PSG would be crowned Champions despite having 10 games left to play. Although the league leaders are sitting comfortably on the Log with a 12 points difference over 2nd Placed Marseille who secured themselves a champions League spot alongside 3rd Placed Rennes.

This decision is coming after France's Prime Minister Edouard Philippe announced that games would not resume before the end of September against the Initial plan of the Ligue 1 FA who has proposed that games would be resuming by June 27th.

In a statement, Philippe said: 'The big sporting affairs cannot occur before September. The 2019-20 football season cannot return.'

The clubs greatly affected by the sudden cancellation of the Ligue 1 season are Nimes (18th) and Amiens (19th) with 27 and 23 points respectively. A climb up to safety might have looked a certainty for the two teams as they are only behind 17th placed Saint Etienne which has 30 points.
