The Management of Nigerian Professional League side, Enugu Rangers has announced that the club has decided to Retire the number 15 jersey for the Whole of Next Season in Honour of Former player, Ifeanyi George who Passed on in a ghastly Motor Accident in March this Year.
In a statement released by Rangers Media and reported by Brila.net, the Club's General Manger, Prince Owumi made it clear that this action was a mark of respect to the Late Ifeanyi George for his Services rendered to the Club.The Statement reads:



“After a lengthy deliberation by management, we came to a conclusion to rest the jersey number worn by our late attacker, Ifeanyi George, for the whole of next season as a mark of respect and honour for his services to the club,”

 

"This gesture,was to further cement the good relationship we had with late Ifeanyi George while defending the colours of Rangers on the field of play just as plans were in top gear to make the insurance benefit cheque presentation to the family left behind by the player a grand event since it was the first of its kind in the country."

"All thanks to the sports-loving governor of the state, H.E, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his approval of the insurance policy for registered players and officials.”
Before his Death, Ifeanyi George Played 29 times for Enugu Rangers scoring seven Goals (Stat by Transfermarkt). He was Only 26 years old.
