Champions of the Nigerian Professional Football League, Akwa United Enjoyed a Heartwarming moment at Markurdi, Benue state in their Last League game of the Season.

Akwa United were crowned Champions of the NPFL 2020/2021 season after defeating MFM FC at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo in Matchday 27.

The Promise keepers were presented with the prestigious Trophy in front of thousands of spectators who came to witness the Historical moment as it was the first time Akwa United would be Lifting the NPFL Trophy since they were founded in 1996.

In their Midweek Encounter Against Lobi Stars In Matchday 28, the players of Akwa United received a Guard of Honour from the Home team as they exchanged pleasantries while the Champions Walked into the Pitch Majestically.



While the Game was of less importance to Akwa United, Lobi Stars took full control of the Match and got their well deserved 3 points winning 2-1 but it was another Moment of Brilliance for Striker Atshimene who got his 19th league goal of the season.
