Steven Gerard ever Since Taking Over as Aston Villa Head Coach has done so well in Getting the team back in the Right track. The English Gaffer before heading into the Game against Liverpool had won 3 of His first 4 Games in the EPL, Winning against Brighton, Crystal Palace and Leicester City.
A Resilient Aston Villa side took on Liverpool in their 5th Match since Gerard's takeover and did Well Enough to Compete with the Inform Reds team before Getting hard done by through the referees decision to award Liverpool a Spot Kick after Mohamed Salah Went down under the Challenge from Villa's Captain, Tyrone Mings.
The Game Ended 1-0 in Favour of Liverpool But Steven Gerard feels the decision to hand the home team A Penalty wasn't Really a Fair one Considering the fact that his side had Their plea for a Penalty waved off.
“Penalty box to penalty box Liverpool were better than us." Gerard Said Via Liverpool World
“But ultimately the game has been decided by a penalty. There were two penalty incidents in the game, Liverpool got theirs – and if you look at it, Salah fouls Tyrone Mings first.”
"I thought we had a decent shout for a penalty, there was certainly contact from Alisson on Danny Ings and if you follow it there is a two-hand shove on Ollie Watkins," Gerrard said.
"We thought that deserved the referee and VAR taking another look but it looked like they wanted to move on quickly.
"Ultimately we have lost the game in the other box which we felt was a foul on Tyrone, it feels harsh.”
Up Next for Aston Villa is an Away trip to Rock-bottom Side, Norwich City.
Steven Gerard would hoping to Make it 4 Wins for himself.
