Former PSG coach, Mauricio Pochettino has spoken out on what it feels like being Part of the French Club following his Sacking after Just two Years in Charge as a Gaffer.
Mauricio Pochettino was shown the Exit on the 5th of July, 2022 following speculations and Criticisms surrounding his Stay at the Club.
The Argentine Gaffer managed 84 Official games for the club, winning 55 and losing Just 14 which gave him a 65% win rate, his highest ever as a Coach. The Gaffer also Left the French Capital with the Ligue 1 trophy, Coupe De France and Trophes des Champions, sweeping off every possible domestic Trophy in his 2 Year stay at the Club.
PSG's Employers were obviously not impressed as they had a priority which was winning the UEFA Champions League.
Speaking on The club's champions league ambition, Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that PSG only values winning the Prestigious European trophy as they consider Domestic Trophies less relevant due to their Superiority and anything Short of the Champions League Trophy is considered as a Failure.
"Everything [at PSG] is focused on the Champions League and sometimes that can be a little distracting." Pochettino told Argentine outlet Infobae (via Marca).
"Those demands seem to only exist in the build-up to European games and other competitions are taken for granted due to PSG's superiority
"The Champions League is the obsession and anything short of winning the Champions League is equivalent to failure."
Mauricio Pochettino also had his say on the transfer Saga involving PSG and Real Madrid over the transfer of key player, Kylian Mbappe of which the French Club got the Upper hand after offering a Mega renewal deal for the highly rated French attacker.
"PSG have done everything possible to keep Kylian [Mbappe] and I agree with that," said Pochettino.
"He's one of the best players in the world right now and I think PSG, with all the resources they have to do so, have convinced him to stay"
The Former Tottenham Boss was Also filled with High praises for his fellow country man, Lionel Messi and he reiterated that the Argentine Maestro is the best player in the world.
"[Messi] is the best player in the world without a doubt."
