Since the Super Falcons' Last Women's World Cup Game against England in August this Year, Ashleigh Plumptre is yet to feature in any game for the team. The Prolific Defender has been Absence in all of Super Falcon's Post World Cup Games and this absence has raised a serious concern amongst Nigerian Football Fans.
Temporary Head coach of the Super Falcons team, Justin Madugu has come out In an interview to make it clear that Ashleigh Plumptre is still Part of the team but would be returning to the National team to join her team mate when she hit full fitness.
The Former Leicester City Women's Defender has reportedly picked up some knocks which is still being Nursed.
“Ashleigh has been having a lot of injuries,” the coach said
“She has been picking some knocks and has not fully recovered - that is the truth about it.”
“She needed some rest and a break from the national team engagement so that she can recover fully,” he added.
“But she is still part of the team. When she is fully recovered, certainly we know what Ashleigh can bring - she will be part of the team going forward.”
Meanwhile Ashleigh Plumptre herself has reacted on her absence from the team, stating that her decision was Personal and that she would be supporting the team from Afar as she hopes to get in the right shape.
