The Nigerian Football Federation, NFF in the early hours of Tuesday 27th Of August, 2024 announced the appointment of German tactician, Bruno Labbadia as head coach of the Nation's National team.

Bruno Labbadia as an experienced coach spent all his coaching career in Germany from 2003 to 2023. In his 20 years managerial career, Bruno Labbadia have coached teams such as Bayer Leverkusen, Wolfsburg, Darmstadt, Harmburger SV, Hertha Berlin and Most Recently, Stuttgart.

As a coach, Bruno Labbadia has worked with several top players across several clubs in Germany including Victor Osimhen whom he is expected to Re-Unite with at the National Level with Nigeria.

VICTOR OSIMHEN: Osimhen as a breakthrough youngster joined Wolfsburg in 2017 following an impressive display at the 2015 U-17 World Cup where he lead Nigeria to Victory scoring 10 goals in 7 appearances which earned him the golden boot award. Osimhen Spent a year and a half at Wolfsburg and in that period, he only had the chance to feature thrice for Bruno Labbadia's team as he was sent out on loan to Belgian side, Sporting Charleroi
