The appointment of Alhaji Suleiman Sa’ad Abubakar as the new Emir of Kagarko has been authorised by Governor Uba Sani.
According to a statement released on Monday by Alhaji Sadiq Mamman Lagos, Commissioner for Local Government, the appointment is effective immediately.
A thorough selection procedure was revealed in the announcement, culminating in the new emir, San Turakin Kagarko.
The kingmakers of the Kagarko Emirate Council reportedly vetted a group of candidates before choosing Suleiman, as reported by the Commissioner.
The statement stated that the late 2nd Class Emir of Kagarko, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, who had ruled the Emirate for six years, passed away on January 8, 2026, following the appointment of the new emir.
Additionally, Governor Uba Sani has extended his congratulations to the new Emir on his ascension to the royal throne, as stated in the announcement.
The Commissioner announced that details regarding the official installation ceremony and the handover of office workers to the new emir will be notified at the appropriate time.
Additionally, the Commissioner mentioned that the Governor had urged the new Emir to consistently work towards fostering peace and unity in his areas.
