Brigadier General Friday Onu was installed as the new commander of the 35 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army on Friday. The brigade is under the 81 Division.
After Godwin Nwamba stepped down as 14th Brigade commander, Brigadier General Onu took charge.
As of his redeployment, Brigadier General Nwamba will now be the Acting Deputy Chief of Civil-Military Affairs (Psychological Operations) at the Army Headquarters Department of Civil-Military Affairs.
During the ceremony, which took place at the Brigade Headquarters in Abeokuta, Ogun State, the outgoing commander thanked the officers and soldiers for their constant support and cooperation during his time in command.
The incoming commander would greatly benefit from their familiarity with the operational environment, thus he emphasised the importance of their continued collaboration and assistance.
During his remarks, Brigadier General Onu, the incoming commander, thanked his predecessor on his new appointment and lauded the outstanding developmental accomplishments achieved during his tenure.
Officers and men of the Brigade are to keep their dedication to their jobs and professionalism at all times, General Onu emphasised.
In order to achieve the Brigade’s goals, he urged everyone to work together, be committed, and support the soldiers.
