In a move that has been approved by IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, the Nigeria Police Force’s top official, 17,952 subordinate officers have been promoted to higher positions. This program is a part of a larger effort to improve workers’ conditions, raise morale, and reward hard work, professionalism, and devotion to the job.
The promotion exercise, which comprises the elevation of 17,714 Constables to the rank of Corporal, 73 Corporals to the rank of Sergeant, and 165 Sergeants to the rank of Inspector, was announced by DCP Anthony Okon Placid, the Force Public Relations Officer at Force Headquarters. The exercise covers Commands and Formations across the country.
Timely promotions, according to the Inspector-General of Police, are an important part of the Force’s strategy for managing its human resources and a strong incentive for officers to stay committed to carrying out their constitutional responsibilities. He stressed that the promotion of worthy officers shows that the present leadership of the Police Department values merit, career advancement, and institutional growth.
