Omoyele Sowore, a presidential candidate for the Action Alliance of Nigeria (AAN), has demanded an investigation into Mary Habila’s death and has insisted that forensic tests into her death’s causes and circumstances be conducted before her burial.
A message was published on July 15, 2026, on Sowore’s web page, stating the position. Sowore demands an impartial inquiry into Habila’s death before her burial, requesting the proper authorities to follow all legal processes, including conducting an autopsy if needed.
Sowore demanded an investigation on Mary Habila’s death at the home of David Umahi, Tinubu’s minister of works.
In addition, he said that Habila’s gushing blood indicated an unnatural death, and he urged the authorities to finish their investigations and forensic tests before burying Habila.
Sowore further stated that the public should investigate past claims of strange deaths involving ministerial associates, including five NELAN engineers.
He demanded that the minister’s associates be held accountable for past killings and urged the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into Habila’s death.
