Precise strikes were carried out by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on identified terrorist hideouts and support buildings at Biramiri in the Gezuwa general area of Borno State before to Wednesday’s Sallah celebration.
A number of militants were neutralised and vital terrorist infrastructure were destroyed in the coordinated strikes, further reducing the rebels’ operational capacity.
“The intensity and precision of the ongoing air offensives have continued to generate fear and confusion among terrorist elements across the Sambisa axis,” said Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, Headquarters, Nigerian Air Force, in a statement released on Tuesday evening.
In the wake of constant bombardment, which cut off their ability to move freely and hide, the statement claims that intelligence assessments revealed increasing fear and confusion within the terrorist ranks.
According to the statement, the NAF, along with Operation Hadin Kai and other security agencies, is determined to keep the pressure on terrorist networks high, defend innocent people, and restore peace and security to the North-East.
