U.S. lobbying company Von Batten-Montague-York has threatened U.S. interests and the stability of Nigeria through President Bola Tinubu.
In response to a resolution introduced by US Congressman John James, who allegedly stated that “tens of thousands of Nigerians have been slaughtered by terrorists ignored or enabled by the Nigerian government,” the firm made the accusations.
Friday, the lobbying firm—which Atiku hired under a $1.2 million, 12-month contract—released a statement via X in which it thanked the congressman for bringing up the matter in Congress.
It was pointed out that Congressmen were getting louder in their criticism of the Tinubu government.
To further erode political opposition in the run-up to Nigeria’s upcoming presidential election, the corporation claimed that the government was corrupt, trafficking drugs, ignoring the rule of law, and interfering with the courts.
“The Nigerian government either ignored or enabled the slaughter of tens of thousands of Nigerians,” the statement adds.
