Senator Emmanuel Bwacha’s recent political declaration has been slammed by the Agbu Kefas Continuity Movement as a “desperate comeback” based on deceptive assertions, inflated data, and outright lies regarding the government in Taraba State.
They released a statement not long after Bwacha’s proclamation in which they criticised the former senator’s claims, calling them “factually bankrupt” and stating that there was no credible evidence to support them. They went on to accuse Bwacha of using a recycled political script in his speech to mislead the public.
In a statement issued by the movement’s coordinator, Mallam Ibrahim Ardo, Bwacha was accused of making “exaggerated and fundamentally untrue” assertions about debt, insecurity, and the performance of governance.
All the way through, Bwacha’s proclamation is weighed down by its own inconsistencies. They claimed that what they were witnessing was “desperation dressed as ambition” rather than leadership.
Bwacha claimed that Taraba State’s debt profile had increased from N237 billion to more than N1 trillion; the movement strongly disagreed, calling the amount “reckless and misleading.”
“This is false information, not opposition. According to it, Bwacha needs to present reliable data to back up his assertions, since the debt profile he mentioned is not backed by verifiable facts.
In response to concerns raised about safety, the organization highlighted Bwacha’s recent successful public declaration in Jalingo as proof that the state had become more secure.

The movement credited Governor Agbu Kefas’ administration with strengthening intelligence gathering, supporting security agencies, and restoring public confidence across communities.
Another point that the movement made in response to Bwacha’s criticism of government openness was that it was ironic and driven by politics.
“Bwacha is not in a position to lecture anyone on transparency. It said that Tarabans should be informed on the projects that were carried out under his supervision, as well as their impact, outcomes, and expenses.
The absence of evidence against the present government led to the former senator being accused of depending on “unverified narratives” in the same report.
The coalition argued that security, education, and infrastructure are three areas where the Kefas government has shown tangible improvement.
Describing Bwacha’s declaration as “long on rhetoric but short on substance,” the movement urged residents to remain focused on what it called visible governance achievements rather than political speeches.
“This election will not be decided by emotional declarations but by the people who can see progress on the ground,” it said.
“We defeated Bwacha in 2023. His proclamation gives no indication of progress or change. Taraba will not move backwards in 2027,” the statement concluded.
