On matchday 32, Bendel Insurance’s technical adviser, Kennedy Boboye, was warned not to repeat his wrongdoing by the management.
Since they are still a disciplined and law-abiding group, they have made it clear that such actions would not be accepted.
According to footynaija, Boboye was heavily penalised for his post-game assault on a match official.
The Nigeria Referee Association (NRA) was also contacted by the Benin club, who expressed regret for the event.
“Bendel Insurance condemned the action of head coach Kennedy Boboye and described the incident as ugly and unfortunate after a careful review of the circumstances surrounding the incident and the consequences therein,” the NPFL media reported Bendel Insurance saying.
“The club’s management has issued a stern warning to coach Kennedy Boboye and his staff, emphasising that they will not stand for any kind of misconduct from their disciplined and law-abiding Insurance FC.”
