Omoyele Sowore, the 2027 presidential candidate for the African Action Congress (AAC), has alerted Nigerians to not let former Vice President Atiku Abubakar mislead them about the fuel subsidy.
Sowore shared this warning in a post on his verified X account on Friday, emphasizing that the AAC is the only party that has consistently opposed the removal of the subsidy.
He pointed out that Atiku, who is the presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has already altered his stance and is now trying to catch up.
Footynaija reminds us that Atiku had promised to restore the fuel subsidy system if he wins the presidency in the upcoming 2027 general elections.
He stated that the removal of the fuel subsidy by President Bola Tinubu’s administration has not brought any advantages to Nigeria.
In response, Sowore remarked, “Don’t let Atiku Abubakar and his comedic entourage mislead you about the fuel subsidy or act as if they are the cause of the panic currently affecting the failing Bola Tinubu administration.
“It was our strong and unwavering position at the Nigerian Bar Association Annual General Conference in Port Harcourt that made the Tinubu administration anxious.”
“We have remained steadfast on this matter, while these establishment politicians continue to change their positions based on political convenience and foreign capitalist influence.
“They should not be permitted to rewrite history or suddenly portray themselves as the opposition,” he tweeted.
