Governor Yusuf issues stern warning to Kwankwaso over alleged “boy” comments

Former Kano State godfather Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has received a severe warning from Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, who warned that he would “open a Pandora’s box” if he continued to speak carelessly about him.

“Make it known that they’re talking excessively; I’ll open my mouth wide and foul things will fly out,” A video of Governor Yusuf’s remarks went viral on the internet.

He went on to say, “I wonder why a 69-year-old will continuously be calling a 63-year-old a boy, this is unacceptable,” seemingly in response to Kwankwaso’s ongoing portrayal of him in that sexualised light.

It is worth noting that ever since he defected to the All Progressives Congress, Governor Yusuf has continuously urged caution on social media attacks rather than criticising his old godfather, Kwankwaso.

On the other hand, many may interpret the governor’s and Kwankwaso’s recent outbursts as an indication of more heated politicking in Kano.
