In a recent development, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo slammed Channels Television anchor Seun Akinbaloye for asking a question about the alleged infraction of airport parking laws by Peter Obi, the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate for 2027.
Keyamo, who had an appearance on Politics on Channels Television Had to make a statement on the event at the airport today.
In response, the minister said that the NDC presidential candidate was not asked to speak on the topic during his recent presence on the program, and hence the question was inappropriate. The minister demanded justice, claiming the media is prejudiced against the administration.
“In light of how the federal government dealt with Peter Obi’s case at the airport, don’t you think that was an extreme example of politics?” Akinbaloye had enquired.
“You interviewed Peter Obi when he was here a few days ago,” Keyamo retorted. Why didn’t you enquire about that with him? This is unfair.
“You asked me about this matter, but you didn’t ask Obi about it during your two-hour interview with him.”
Just as the host was about to end the show, Keyamo interrupted, “You are shutting me down now because you know I want to ask a critical question.”
