ISWAP faces a significant setback as troops eliminate numerous terrorists in Adamawa

The Joint Task Force (North East), known as Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), has successfully neutralised a large number of Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in the Kopre Mountain area of Hong Local Government Area in Adamawa State.

This information was shared in a statement by Captain Mohammed Goni, the Acting Military Information Officer at the Headquarters of the Joint Task Force (North East).

Goni mentioned that, based on reliable intelligence, a collaborative effort involving the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) tactical team and newly inducted troops from the 226 Battalion, which were recently assigned to Sector 4 in Adamawa State under the orders of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, executed a stealth operation in the targeted area.

He highlighted that after successfully navigating the challenging and rugged landscape, the joint force managed to infiltrate the terrorists’ stronghold and carried out a precise strike on their camp during the early hours of Thursday, August 27, 2026.
