African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain Kenneth Okonkwo predicted that Peter Obi, a previous presidential candidate for the Labour Party, will be defeated throughout the whole Southeast in the general elections next year.
While appearing on Thursday’s episode of “Politics Today” on Channels Television, Okonkwo made the statement. The “Obi or Nothing” motto, he continued, is a desecration in Igbo territory.
Behold, the snag. Peter Obi will lose the entire Southeast, and I’m attempting to explain why. Is the slogan “Obie or nothing” new to you? The Igbo people find the slogan to be culturally repugnant.
I will not be the sole one to prosper; that is the meaning of the Igbo word somadina. There will be others who achieve success than me.
“Allow me to transport you to 1979. Nnamdi Azikiwe ran under a NPP, and he knew that the votes of Ndigbo would not make him president.
His brother’s name was Alex Ekwueme. He was registered with NPN. Azikiwe showed him the utmost respect. Ekwueme was not told to leave the NPN by him. At the end of the day, what happened? NPN won the election, and an Igbo man was vice president,” he said.
