Troops from Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in partnership with the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) Tactical Team, have successfully killed more than 21 Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists during a significant operation in the Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
This information was shared in a press release signed by the Acting Military Information Officer at the Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, Capt. Mohammed Goni.
The statement indicated that the joint force included the ONSA Tactical Team and newly deployed troops from the 226 Battalion assigned to Sector 4 in Adamawa State.
The operation took place in the Kopre Mountain area on Thursday, August 27, 2026, following reliable intelligence regarding the terrorists’ activities in the region.
Goni mentioned that the troops executed a stealth operation through challenging terrain before launching a precise attack on the terrorists’ camp in the early morning hours.
He stated, “The troops engaged the terrorists in two separate confrontations, leading to the elimination of over 21 terrorists, while several others fled with gunshot injuries.
“After the operation, the troops secured the area, dismantled the terrorist camp, and destroyed its logistical infrastructure, significantly impairing the group’s operational capabilities in the region.”
The military spokesperson noted that numerous motorcycles, bicycles, and jerrycans filled with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), which were likely used for terrorist logistics and transportation, were also destroyed during the operation.
He further mentioned that troops recovered several AK-47 rifles, ammunition, and other equipment.
