Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of Al-Nassr, has stated that he was instrumental in getting other world-class players to sign with the Saudi Pro League (SPL).
This was said by the Portuguese striker when chatting recently with Rio Ferdinand, a legend at Manchester United.
Notable players who have joined the SPL since Ronaldo’s arrival include Neymar, Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kanté, Sadio Mané, Riyad Mahrez, and Ivan Toney.
Ronaldo reportedly told Fabrizio Romano, “I will speak at the end of the season about many real matters.” So stated the player. Everyone else joined this league after I did, because I was the first.
“Referees are human, and as such, they are prone to making mistakes; nevertheless, players should still show respect to them.”
Ronaldo’s remarks come after Al-Nassr’s 2–0 win over Al-Ahli on Wednesday.
