Fuel prices in Nigeria, according to President Bola Tinubu, are lower than in Kenya and other African nations.
During his Thursday remarks at the Yenagoa project commissioning, he revealed this.
He was cognisant of the fact that Nigerians are dealing with economic difficulties, notably the increasing price of petrol.
He acknowledged that Nigerians are understandably worried about the economy, but he emphasised that their country is still doing better than others on the African continent.
“Certainly, I understand your perspective from an economic standpoint; the strain of rising fuel prices is real,” Tinubu stated. “But glance around; let us give thanks to God as a nation that we are fortunate compared to Kenya and other African nations.”
According to footynaija’s research, the cost of gasoline in Kenya was $1.37 a litre in April 2026, or about N1,862.
The price of crude oil has been fluctuating between $95 and $100 per barrel since March, while the price of gasoline has soared to between N1,290 and N1,350 per litre.
In response to the unpredictable worldwide price of crude oil, domestic petrol pump prices have been raised by Dangote Refinery, gasoline marketers and depot owners for the past six weeks.
